South Tours

The south is Mauritius at its most dramatic, and it holds more of the island's headline sights than any other region. This is where you find the seven-coloured dunes and 100-metre waterfall at Chamarel, the sacred crater lake of Grand Bassin high in the mountains, and the black cliffs of Gris Gris where the open ocean crashes in with no reef to soften it. In between run the old estates of the Tea Route, where rum and tea have been made for well over a century, and family favourites like the crocodile park.
