Vallée des Couleurs Nature Park
A 450-acre adventure park with 23-coloured earth, the longest zipline in Mauritius and a 350m Nepalese bridge.
Spread over more than 450 acres in the south near Chamouny, Vallée des Couleurs is built around its own earth of 23 different shades, formed by ancient volcanic activity, even more colours than the famous dunes at Chamarel. Established in 1998, the reserve is a patchwork of green valleys, hills, lakes, waterfalls and rivers, home to endemic and indigenous plants and wildlife.
Where Chamarel is about quiet viewing, this park is about doing. It holds the longest zipline in Mauritius, a 1.5 km run high above the valley, alongside a 350-metre Nepalese suspension bridge you cross on foot, quad and buggy trails, and a luge kart. You will also walk among giant tortoises and deer, and spot native birds such as the pink pigeon on the trails through the forest.
