Whale & Dolphin Watching
Head out from the Black River coast at dawn to meet wild dolphins, and in season, whales rolling through the deep.

Off the west coast at Black River, the water drops away deep and clear, and it's where pods of wild spinner and bottlenose dolphins gather most mornings. An early boat trip takes you out to meet them in their own environment, often swimming and leaping alongside the boat.
In the whale season, roughly the southern winter, the same waters are visited by sperm whales and humpbacks, and responsible operators keep a respectful distance while you watch these giants surface. Some trips add a snorkelling stop over the reef on the way back.
Boats leave early for the calmest sea and best sightings, so Krishna will arrange a dawn pick-up. Sightings are wild and never guaranteed, but the odds here are among the best on the island.
