Île aux Cerfs
A palm-fringed island of white sand and impossibly blue water: the east coast's most famous day trip.
Just off the east coast, Île aux Cerfs is the postcard image of Mauritius: soft white sand, leaning palms and a lagoon in every shade of blue and green. A boat or catamaran carries you across the water to the island, where the day is yours to swim, snorkel, laze on the beach or try water sports.
Many trips run as a full catamaran cruise with a barbecue lunch on board, often stopping to see the nearby Grand River South East waterfall along the way. It's the classic east-coast excursion and, for a lot of visitors, a highlight of the whole trip.
Krishna arranges the transfer to the departure point and the boat; you just bring swimwear, a towel and sunscreen.
